The Old Gang

Just wanted to send a shout out to last years AFC Thailand team and to encourage anyone who is still at A&M to take one of these trips if you get the chance.  I was able to go on two and these trips dramatically changed the course of my life to this point.  Kara and I took the second trip together and it was the during that trip that I realized that I wanted to marry her.  I saw her servant heart and compassion for others and tons of other great things and knew she was the one for me.  Now that we are graduated and married, we have come back to this place to continue where we left off.  God placed an opportunity in my life one Sunday afternoon.  I took it and I am so glad that I did because if I hadn't, this awesome chain of events might not have started.   So ya, shout out to the previous AFC teams and we both cant wait to see next years group in Chiang Mai.

Kara and I woke up early this morning (from jet lag) and took a walk around campus.  Here are some photos we took and some images we found on the Internet that can help familiarize you with the area. As our primary ministry is to reach students at this university, we want to know as much about this place as we can.  Right now it feels like freshman year all over again.  So many places to discover and people to meet.

We have arrived!

Hello All,
     After 3 days of traveling, we have finally reached our final destination of Chiang Mai Thailand.  I put together a short video cataloging the trip and showing off our new accommodations.  We have a bathroom with a western toilet and hot shower, a queen sized bed, and a balcony to name a few of the great things about this place.  Tomorrow morning, Worship starts at about 9:30.  Enjoy a brief look at the last few days and be looking for more updates as we settle in.

Hey everyone,

It's been a fantastic summer for Kara and I.  We were married May 18 and moved to Buena Vista, Colorado so that I could build a house here in the mountains.  My friends and I had designed the house during our last semester at Texas A&M.  Kara found a job babysitting some young kids and a 19 year old autistic young man.   We have found a church home at the Mountain View Church of Christ.  The people there have taken us in during our first few months of marriage and really showed us true hospitality.  There is a potluck lunch EVERY Sunday and everyone is invited.  We have really enjoyed getting to know everyone from this church and hope to keep in touch with them through this blog.  We are close to leaving Buena Vista for San Antonio to get ready for our journey to Thailand.  Please keep us in your prayers.  The flight leaves from Houston on August 20th.
